Short Biography
I am a senior scientist at MINES ParisTech, where I develop a research activity in Biomechanics. I graduated from Polytech’Paris-UPMC with a major in Materials Chemistry. After a Master of Science in Materials Chemistry at ESPCI-Paris/UPMC, I received my PhD in 1998 in Materials Science & Engineering at MINES ParisTech. My main current research projects explore the characterization of the mechanical properties and the numerical modeling of biological tissues and structures or prosthetic materials, with two main fields of application: the surgical simulation and the computer-aided design of medical devices.
Research Interests
  • Biomechanics
  • Soft tissues
  • Characterization of mechanical behavior
  • Finite element modeling
  • Surgical simulation

Teaching

  • Mechanics of materials and structures (Civil engineering, MINES ParisTech)
  • Science and Materials Engineering for Health (Civil engineering, MINES ParisTech)
  • Mechanics or complex materials and modeling (master BME-Paris)
  • Basics in Continuum Mechanics (master BME-Paris)
  • Mechanical testing of materials (Advanced Master MAPMOD, MINES ParisTech)
  • Telemedecine and computer assisted surgery (Post-master PSL-ITI)

Professional Responsibilities and Experiences

  • Co-chair of the Biomechanics track (master BME-Paris)
