Short Biography

Rachele Allena is Associate Professor at the Institut de Biomécanique Humaine George Charpak at the ENSAM Paris. She obtained here Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches in 2015 at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie and her PhD in Biomechanics at Centrale Supélec in 2009. She is co-chair of the BioMAT track since 2013. She is interested in developing numerical models to qualitatively and quantitatively understand biological phenomena that are fundamental in medicine. More specifically, her research focuses on how cells act and interact with their mechanical environment in various contexts such as single and collective migration, durotaxis or bone remodelling. She is author of about 30 scientific papers and has been invited for short or long stays in national and foreigner institutions in Singapore, Italy, UK and Spain.
