Our next "Open Your Mind" seminar is scheduled for this Friday, December 7 2018 and will take place will take place at Arts et Métiers ParisTech (151 boulevard de l’Hôpital, 75 013 Paris) in lecture theatre Fournel between 1:30 pm and 3 pm. For this first conference, a lecture entitled " Development of new brain imaging modalities in animal models to better understand human neuropsychiatric pathologies " will be given by Zsolt LENKEI, MD-PhD, head of the Neuronal Structure and Dynamics team, Brain Plasticity Unit, CNRS/ESPCI ParisTech.

Short Biography:
Zsolt Lenkei is a INSERM researcher, director of a research group at the ESPCI-ParisTech in a joint CNRS-ESPCI research laboratory, the Brain Plasticity Unit. He is Professor of Biology at the PSL Research University. He graduated from the Semmelweis University Medical School at Budapest, Hungary in 1992 and obtained a PhD in Neurosciences (University Pierre and Marie Curie) in 1998 by working at the Chaire de Médicine Expérimentale of Prof. Pierre Corvol at the Collège de France in Paris. He joined the ESPCI-ParisTech in 2002 where he developed a research project aimed to better understand, by using advanced microscopy approaches, the neuronal cell biology of brain cannabinoid receptors and their potential implication in psychiatric pathogenesis.  Since 2011 his team also works in close collaboration with the team of Mickael Tanter (Institut Langevin, ESPCI-ParisTech) to develop a novel powerful brain imaging modality, functional Ultrafast Brain Ultrasound, that is able to image brain structure and connectivity with unprecedented experimental power. The project NeuroFlow, a start-up company based on this technology and co-founded by Zsolt Lenkei was awarded at the prestigious '17e Concours national d’aide à la création d’entreprises de technologies innovantes - i-Lab' of the French 'Ministère de l’enseignement et de la recherche', in 2015 and at the “Concours Innovation Numerique/BpiFrance 2017” and is currently labeled by the prominent Paris incubators Scientipole and Agoranov..
