In clinics, I chair the vascular Surgery Department of Pitié-Salpêtrière University Hospital in Paris. This department was the first to differentiate into Vascular Surgery in our country and remains the national cradle this discipline. I managed to keep there an active group of surgeons mastering open, endovascular and laparoscopic surgery My areas of excellence are proximal aortic surgery, that of the supra-aortic trunks, septic aortic surgery, the endovascular aortic, systemic arterial disease and inflammatory arterial disease. In teaching. In research, I pioneered a systematic use of ambient technologies to solve vascular problems. In the 8O’ I founded a laboratory attached to our clinical department where many instruments and implants were developed from arterial allografts to stent-grafts. In our university, I founded in 2006 a Master of Medical Engineering which welcomes 20 students per year and per level. This master is accessible to surgeons, engineers and health professionals. It orients candidates toward the development of medical and especially vascular devices.
