Seminar announcement flyer

This week’s OpenYourMind seminar will be given by Olivier COLLIOT, Research Director at CNRS and Head of the ARAMIS Laboratory at the Brain and Spine Institute (CNRS, Inria, Inserm, University Pierre and Marie Curie). The seminar will be held this Friday 17/11/2017 between 1:30 pm and 3 pm at ENSAM ParisTech (151, Boulevard de l’Hopital, 75013 Paris). The seminar topic will be “Numerical models of brain diseases from imaging, clinical and genetic data”.  For more information please refer to the attached abstract.

Disorders of the brain are a major issue for our modern societies. Multiple characteristics of brain diseases can now be measured in living patients thanks to the tremendous progress of neuroimaging, genomic and biomarker technologies. Collection of multimodal data in large patient databases provide a comprehensive view of brain alterations, biological processes, genetic risk factors and symptoms. However, an integrative view of brain diseases that can account for these different aspects is currently lacking. This is a major impediment to the development of new treatments. In this talk, I will present how this challenge can be addressed through building numerical models of brain diseases from multimodal patient data. Specifically, we will describe new approaches to: i) statistically model the variability of brain anatomy and its alterations; ii) analyze structural and functional brain networks; iii) model the temporal evolution of disease processes from longitudinal data; iv) integrate imaging and genetic data.
