BME Seminars - Guillaume DUBOIS

Seminar announcement flyer

Tomorrow, Friday December 11th 2015, we will have the great pleasure of hosting a talk given by Guillaume Dubois, general manager at OBL and Professor at Arts et Métiers ParisTech. The seminar will be held  between 1:30 pm and 3 pm in lecture theatre Fournel at ENSAM ParisTech. The seminar topic will be “Personalized engineering for cranio-maxillofacial surgery: bringing 3D printed implants to the operation theatre”.

Abstract

3D printing has become the focus of unprecedented interest in our societies. While it opens a full new range of possibilities, it is also a real challenge in the way we are designing objects and a major change in the way we are organizing their production. In the medical field, especially for implantable medical devices, it is a complete new universe of innovation which is revealed but also needs to be properly explored and controlled for obvious safety reasons. This presentation will focus on the development of 3D printed custom solutions for cranio-maxillofacial surgery, from the grain of titanium powder and medical images to the clinical application through numerical simulation, physico-chemical characterization and mechanical testing.
