Seminar announcement flyer

This Friday, November 9th 2015, we will have the great pleasure of hosting a talk given by Prof. Jean Dubousset, Emeritus Professor at René Descartes University in Paris, member of the French  “Académie Nationale de Médecine” and “Académie Nationale de Chirurgie”, and member of the scientific councils of both the Cotrel Foundation of the Institut de France and of the Institut de Biomécanique Humaine Georges Charpak of Arts et Métiers ParisTech. The conference will be held  between 1:30 pm and 3 pm in lecture theatre Fournel at ENSAM ParisTech. The seminar topic will be “the spinal engine”.

Professor Jean Dubousset is a medical doctor and researcher and has, in the early eighties, launched a program for a new concept in spine surgery with Yves Cotrel [Cotrel-Dubousset Spine Instrumentation], which is at the present one of the worldwide leading spine techniques and instrumentation. He also initiated, in collaboration with Wafa Skalli, Georges Charpak and a pluridiscisciplinar team, the project that yielded the EOS system. Over the past few years, he has been the recipient of various awards for his work on 3D spinal correction and malignant tumours in children. With over 35 years’ experience, he is a keen defender of the multidisciplinary element which makes practical progress in the medical field possible. In parallel to his clinical and research activities he has also received, in 2010, the Blount Award, a humanitarian award given for outstanding service in spinal deformities.
