Seminar announcement flyer

Our next "Open Your Mind" seminar is scheduled for Friday, November 7th and will be held in lecture theatre Fournel (Amphi Fournel), Arts et Métiers ParisTech (151 boulevard de l’Hôpital, 75013 Paris) between 1:30 pm and 3 pm. The seminar will be given by Véronique Migonney, Professor of chemistry and biomaterials and head of the CSPBAT laboratory (Chemistry, structures, biomaterial properties and therapeutic agents). The seminar topic will be “For a controlled response of the host: examples of bioactive implantable devices”.

The seminar will be held in lecture theatre Fournel (Amphi Fournel), Arts et Métiers ParisTech (151 boulevard de l’Hôpital, 75013 Paris) between 1:30 pm and 3 pm on Friday, November 7th.

Abstract:
The development and elaboration of implantable structures that do not cause a hostile response of the host is the goal of each and every research team in the field of biomaterials. This first calls for the conception of the medical devices and for their evaluation from a pluridisciplinary point of view: surface chemistry and physico-chemistry, in vitro and in vivo biological evaluation and their limits, norms, etc. The challenge is significant but the proposed examples show that it is possible to conceive biodegradable implantable medical devices.
