This week, the BME seminars "Open Your Mind" will host a conference of Ayman Assi who is Assistant Professor at the University of Saint Joseph in Beirut, Lebanon. The conference is entitled " Biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system of children with cerebral palsy ".

The conference will take place on Friday 15th november at Arts & Métiers ParisTech, 151 boulevard de l’Hôpital, 75013 Paris, Amphi Bezier, from 13h30 to 15h00.

"Cerebral Palsy (CP) results from a non-progressive lesion in the immature brain affecting more than 4/1000 of newborns causing muscles spasticity in the lower and upper limbs. Diagnosis of CP patterns is usually based on patient’s history, physical exam, 3D gait analysis and medical imaging. A 3D subject specific biomechanical approach, mixing the different diagnostic tools, is essential to help the surgeon in his treatment decision making.  "
